As School Travel Plans documents and the STAR (Sustainable Travel Accredited and Recognised) accreditation application process has now been combined this website has been revised to reflect these changes.
The tabs at the top of the page give you access to a range of advice, information and resources promoting safer and more sustainable travel.

The Co-operative GREEN SCHOOLS REVOLUTION: Walking Buses
A Walking Bus is an organised group of children who walk to school together accompanied by volunteers. There is no actual bus!
The Co-operative are offering to provide schools with high quality free Walking Bus kits including high-viz vests for both the children and adults with promotional banners and posters, worth up to £1000 (subject to availability) so as to get more children walking to and from school.
Successful Walking Buses cut down on car journeys - so it's better for the environment and eases local congestion around the school. For more details on starting 'The Co-operative Walking Bus' at your school, click on the link below -

In-Car Safety: New Safety Regulations for Child Car Seats
On 9 July 2013 a new child seat regulation came into force known as i-Size, designed to make child car seats safer, as well as easier to buy, fit and use.
i-Size grades seats based on a child's height and weight and is much more accurate than the previous system. All new vehicles will have 'i-Size-ready' seating positions, allowing any i-Size child seat to fit into any i-Size potition in a car, irresepective of make or design.
